Malachite
Danila Shmelev
Moscow artist Danila Shmelev prioritises the illusion effect and execution quality above all else. The plastic in his artwork serves as a reminder that we live in a plastic world, while the tears symbolise liberation from it. On the whole, Danila’s mural represents freedom from consumerism and the constant need to buy something every day as dictated by advertising. In terms of colour, the piece turned out visually similar to malachite — a stone deeply associated with the Urals.
