Muralist Kirill Vedernikov previously took part in the festival in 2020. Drawing on an iconographic style aligned with the spirit of the Russian avant-garde, he created a new design of Alexander Nevsky and brought it to life in a setting far better suited in meaning and context: on the building façade near the entrance to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The artist noted that he was not aiming for a portrait likeness of the saint, focusing instead on a more symbolic interpretation. The artwork was produced with the support of the Catherine Society.
